Photography Composition

Composition is all about how we arrange everything in a photo and where we place our subjects to create the most visually appealing results. The goal of good composition is to lead the viewer's eye through the image. We can do this by being thoughtful about how we frame things, arrange elements, and position everything within the shot.

The way that a photo is composition and layering can catch people's eye to draw their attention to the subject. By using different elements and arranging them effectively, you can guide the viewer's focus right where you want it. Following the rules for photography can be done by using these example of how to frame your shot

Lighting Techniques

Studio lighting in photography is a skill by using artificial light to enhance the existing light or fully illuminate their shot. The setups can vary from just a single flash attached to the camera to multiple off-camera lights for more complex lighting arrangements.

Rembrandt Lighting

Butterfly lighting

This is a type of lighting pattern for studio portraiture and Modleing photography. This is achieved by placing the boxlight facing down on the person at angle.

Side lighting

This is a type a simple technique that uses only half of the subject by using a the light at roughly 90° to the camera.

Gel lighting

This a technique that uses colour and light to send the colours onto the subject that shows the colours on the surface.

There so much you can do within the studio to make sure you’re photographs within the studio. Are clean and getting as much out of the studio as possible.

Camera equipment and settings

A high-quality DSLR or mirrorless camera with manual settings, a range of lenses, a tripod for stability, a remote shutter to prevent shake, and memory cards.

Camrea Settings

ISO: Start with an ISO of 100. If you're in low light, you can bump it up, but watch out for background noise.

Shutter speed: The shutter speed should generally be double the focal length of your lens. So, if you're using a 50mm lens, aim for at least a 1/100 shutter speed.

Aperture: The aperture affects how blurry or sharp the background is. For portraits, you typically want it to be between f/8 and f/4.

White balance: Use the white balance preset or set it custom based on the lighting conditions.

Photo format: Always shoot in RAW format for better editing flexibility.

Editing Software

Photo editing software is a digital tool that lets you alter and improve digital images to boost their quality. These tools can also take scanned versions of old photos and turn them into digital images, enhance contrast, and eliminate any blemishes.

Creative And Artistic Direction

Photographers will take on the role of creative director during their shoots, meaning they get to decide on styling, posing, and how to capture their models. They also coordinate and organize the rest of the project team.
